Why is life/critical illness insurance included under Level One?

What do I do if I don’t want to be included in the Reed Rewards Scheme?
You have up to 14 days from the date of your first day of work with Reed (or from the launch of the scheme on 2 nd April 2005, whichever is the later) to opt out of Level One and Level Two. Any premiums paid by you during this period will be refunded.

Yes, with your prior written agreement which will be contained in your contract of employment.
How much will be deducted from my wages?
If you wish to take advantage of the scheme Reed will deduct the sum of either £0.97 per week or £2.29 per week from your wages, depending on whether you have Level One or Level Two cover. This amount may be subject to change but Reed will notify you in advance of any proposed changes. Reed will endeavour to keep the costs to the minimum at all times. There are no current plans to increase the costs. If you choose to opt out of the scheme Reed will not make any deductions from your wages for the premiums.
If I only work a limited number of hours a week will the premiums be pro-rated?
The premium provides cover for the full week and therefore is not pro-rated.
Why has no-one discussed these changes with me?
Reed decided that the best way to inform each and every temporary employee was to write to you individually with full details of the scheme, your options and resultant changes to the terms and conditions of employment. This letter was sent 3 weeks before the benefits are due to take effect, providing us with time to obtain your views and answer your queries.
